Bicentenary Events
in 2018

Throughout 2018, St James will hold a number of events to celebrate the bicentenary with existing friends and audiences as well as staging new events to encourage a more wide-ranging and younger audience.

St James is also hosting a number of “homecoming” concerts in 2018 to celebrate world class performers from Guernsey who have gone on to develop international careers.

The Guernsey Photographic Club celebrate St James Bicentenary with a competition and exhibition of members’ photographs of St James

Guernsey Eisteddfod Concert

Guernsey Welsh Male Voice Choir

Vladimir Ashkenazy

One of the world’s great classical artists returns to Guernsey for the first time in decades to conduct Southbank Sinfonia, the acclaimed orchestra of young professional musicians, in a popular programme of Beethoven, Prokofiev and Grieg. Booking opens 1 May

Island Sounds

Passionate about and supportive of new music, local composer Lydia Pugh is organising a concert at St James as part of the Bicentennial celebrations to showcase and promote the compositions of living, local composers, with an invitation to all musicians/composers aged 15 and over, across the Bailiwick of Guernsey to submit work to be performed on October 20th
